Have you ever looked at your pet and wondered what their personality would sound like as music? Well, artist and composer Noam Oxman has done just that with his delightful "Sympawnies" series. Today, I’m excited to share how Noam brings pet personalities to life in the most enchanting way.

Noam Oxman takes pet portraits to a whole new level. He starts with a photo of a pet—whether it’s a dog, cat, badger, or even a snake—and then creates original musical pieces that capture their unique personalities.

He even gives them playful names:

• “Dogvertimento in C”: A fun twist on the 18th-century “divertimento.”

• “Toc-cat-a in B (Latte)”: A clever play on “toccata” for a cat named Latte.

Noam is a talented composer who loves both music and animals. Inspired by J.S. Bach’s fancy handwriting, he creates graphic shapes out of musical notes, making each composition truly unique. His Sympawnies are based on Baroque and Classical styles, which give him lots of room to be expressive. Noam studied jazz piano, composition, and music theory at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He also volunteers at animal shelters, works with rescue animals, and lives with his partner and their three cats.

“Chubby Cat was sweet and playful and the perfect cuddle buddy,” Noam wrote. “With a sprinkle of playful piccolo, a touch of warm strings, and a sweet harmony progression—hopefully, the music sounds just a little bit like him. Rest in peace, sweet Chubby Cat.”

Noam performs all his pieces on his YouTube channel. Each one is as unique as the pets themselves.
