Loose Ends is dedicated to alleviating grief, fostering community, and encouraging generosity by connecting volunteer crafters with unfinished projects, left incomplete because of someone's passing or disability.

Handmade items are gestures of love. The effort, cost, and talent involved in creating them can't be measured. Wearing something made just for you feels heartwarming because every stitch shows you were in someone's thoughts. But if the person making it passes away before finishing, this special, handmade sign of love might end up forgotten, given away, or thrown away.

The idea for Loose Ends came from Jennifer Simonic and Masey Kaplan, both of whom love to knit. They noticed they often got asked to finish knitting projects, like blankets or sweaters, that people hadn’t been able to complete before they passed away. They were always glad to help, knowing how meaningful it is to have something made by someone special.

"Started with love by them. Finished with care by us." This phrase perfectly sums up what Loose Ends does: finishing with love the projects started by others. It’s a beautiful and rewarding task.
